Wentzville School District Launches Military Service Recognition Wall

A young woman with blonde hair and a U.S. Air Force sash smiles at the camera in the foreground, while a blurred crowd of graduates and spectators fills the background of an auditorium.

The Wentzville School District is proud to announce the creation of the Military Service Recognition Wall, which will be displayed in the Board of Education Room at the WSD Administrative Center. This tribute will honor WSD alumni who have served or are currently serving in the United States Armed Forces, creating a lasting reminder of the commitment, sacrifice, and patriotism woven throughout our community’s history.

For generations, this community has been built by families who have grown up here, raised their children here, and continued traditions of service both in the classroom and beyond. The Military Service Recognition Wall will preserve those stories and ensure future generations understand the impact WSD alumni have made in service to our country.

This initiative was spearheaded by Superintendent Brian Bishop, whose vision for the project centered on creating a meaningful way to recognize the military service of WSD graduates and to celebrate the legacy they leave behind in our schools and community.

“This project is near and dear to my heart, as both of my grandfathers and my uncle served our country. I wanted to find a meaningful way to honor and recognize our brave WSD alumni who have served or are currently serving in our nation’s Armed Forces. My hope is that this Wall of Honor in our Board Room serves as a lasting tribute to their courage and a reminder to our community of the sacrifices made in the name of freedom,” said Brian Bishop, superintendent of schools.

The district hopes to recognize as many alumni as possible and encourages current students, graduates, families, and community members to help spread the word. Whether you are submitting your own information or sharing this opportunity with a family member, neighbor, classmate, or friend, every submission helps tell the story of the generations of WSD alumni who have answered the call to serve.
